We are a volunteer connector and coordinator organization and volunteer host site!

Background

The United Way of Greater New Bedford is a non-profit organization that was established in 1953. The United Way brings together volunteers, community leaders, and corporate partners to provide quality programs and initiatives that achieve positive results. Its service area, which has a population in excess of 194,000, includes the City of New Bedford and surrounding towns of Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester and Wareham.

Volunteer Opportunities

We rely on volunteers throughout the year to help us in the office and at events. Opportunities differ depending on the time of the year.

We also connect volunteers to opportunities through our online database, Volunteer SouthCoast. Last year, we were able to match over 600 volunteers with opportunities.

Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to visit www.volunteersouthcoast.org, a free, online database that connects volunteers with volunteer opportunities throughout the SouthCoast.
