Join our social media campaign to highlight service and volunteerism this week by using the hashtag #BetheChangeSC or attending one of our great events throughout the week!
In honor of National Volunteer Week, SouthCoast Serves will be celebrating service through a variety of events and a unique social media campaign you can follow or contribute to by using #BetheChangeSC on your favorite social media account.
Monday April 13th: We will launch our new Volunteer Tracking app, OurVolts which you will be able to find at www.southcoastserves.org/OurVolts. We will also announce the winner of our T-Shirt Design Contest on our social media pages (Facebook and Twitter). You can start contributing to our #BetheChangeSC campaign by posting photos of yourself at service events, speaking to how volunteerism is important to you, highlighting your favorite service site, or seeing what others have to say!
Tuesday, April 14th: Join SouthCoast Serves and the Southeastern MA Food Security Network for a Food Justice Forum from 6-8:30pm at the UMass Dartmouth Woodland Commons with panelists including Dr. Dave Weed, Professor Isabel Rodrigues, and Noreen Kelly from Project Bread for a presentation and discussion of the Southeastern MA Food System Assessment followed by an opportunity to speak with local organizations to discover volunteer opportunities to address food security in our region.
Wednesday, April 15th: Keep up with our #BetheChangeSC campaign to learn about the unique volunteer opportunities in our region and see how our partners engage the community through service!
Thursday, April 16th: Chancellor Divina Grossman will join UMass Dartmouth leaders and students and local community members and youth at Battleship Cove to perform and celebrate service with a UMass Dartmouth Service Rally. Then, join us for our Service Showcase from 5-6:30pm at the Marine Museum in Fall River as we celebrate our region’s dedication to service! Friday, April 17th: Join UMass Dartmouth for their Civic Engagement Summit from 8am-12pm at the Woodland Commons building for a discussion on the power of civic engagement-building social capital, expanding economic opportunities, and strengthening our communities! With special keynote speakers Wendy Spencer from the Corporation for National and Community Service and Russell Krumnow from Opportunity nation. Saturday, April 18th: Join SouthCoast Serves ad the Leduc Center for Civic Engagement as we kick off our Spring Into Service week full of fantastic volunteer opportunities with a Dartmouth Town Clean-Up from 1:30-3pm in conjunction with the Dartmouth Green Up Day.
